Manufacturers at Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) I and II are gradually ramping up operations to regain growth momentum in the last months of the year.

About 98 per cent of businesses have reopened at VSIP I and II in Binh Duong. Workers have also returned to work and the flow of goods has been gradually restored.

“Businesses are increasing production to regain economic growth in the final months of the year. At the same time, our industrial zones pay special attention to maintaining safety in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 outbreak,” said the representative of VSIP.

DADL Co., Ltd., at VSIP II, Binh Duong, was home to about 1,510 employees before the epidemic. After more than a month of the “new normal”, about 1,000 workers have returned to work.

Ho Huynh Thanh Thao, deputy executive director of DADL Co., Ltd., said that in order to keep production lines running, the company is inviting workers who have returned to their hometowns during social distancing to return to work by covering travel costs and other expenses for them. Furthermore, the company has boosted recruitment to reach full production capacity in the first quarter of 2022.

The company also provides PCs to employees with young children so that they can continue to work and study online from home. “At this point, the company’s first priority is employees’ health,” Thao stressed.

At this time, P&G Factory at VSIP II also had about 900 employees who returned to work, reaching 90 per cent of staff count compared to before the epidemic.

Dang Duc Toan, supply chain director at the factory, said that the company maintains capacity, ensures the quantity of essential goods to serve consumers, and at the same time, focuses on protecting the safety of workers.

“Up to now, 100 per cent of employees have received their first COVID-19 shots and 92 per cent have received the second dose. The company has bought rapid test kits for in-house testing and distribution to employees’ families. At the same time, the company not only supports dormitories for workers in high-risk areas but also deploys medical counselling programmes for the whole company,” Toan added.

Binh Duong Industrial Zones Management Authority and industrial park developer VSIP have provided tremendous assistance to businesses, including supporting registration approval/conversion to flexible production models, conducting a fact-finding survey to provide detailed instructions for businesses on pandemic prevention and supporting vaccination for all employees.

In addition to gradually stabilising production, VSIP has also resumed real estate and housing projects in two industrial parks in Binh Duong. Of these, the Sun Casa Central project covers an area of more than 30 hectares in the heart of VSIP II integrated township and industrial park, which is home to over 500,000 employees, including over 45,000 professionals.

“After the disruptions caused by the pandemic, hundreds of flats in the first phase of the project have been handed over to consumers in early October,” the representative of VSIP noted.

Sun Casa Central is developed as a comprehensive living and working environment with a focus on amenities and healthy living. The project features various amenities like the 3ha Sun Mall mixed-use shopping centre, Sun Park, and Sun Container Night Market entertainment and service area. VSIP and its partners will build an international-standard clinic covering an area of 5,000 square metres as well as a kindergarten to accommodate 400 children.

In addition, VSIP will soon kick off the third phase of the Habitat apartment complex located at the gateway of VSIP I. The third phase of this luxury apartment complex focuses on a variety of on-site amenities such as an infinity pool, sky bar, outdoor performance stage, green park, gym, yoga, sports playground, jogging track, BBQ area, and children’s playground.
